Backpack Battles Recipes: an Updated List
All item combinations for early-access Backpack Battles. All classes recipes, including new Berserker and Pyromancer.
Updated by Tian Kami in Backpack Battles
Basics of Crafting
Crafting in Backpack Battles is simple – you place several ingredients so that they touch each other on the sides. The combination doesn't happen immediately but after the next battle. This interaction can be blocked by right-clicking, if necessary.
Item combinations can be discovered by highlighed blue lines. After each new assembly, the item is added to the recipe list, which you can always check before a battle. In this guide, a complete list of recipes is provided as of early January 2024. As the game receives updates, the list of combinations is planned to be expanded.
New recipes
With the release of Backpack Battles in early access, 35 new recipes have been added. Three of these recipes are available to everyone, while the rest are class-specific. The largest number of new recipes has been added for the Berserker and Pyromancer classes, which are new to the game.
Except the latest ones, all new recipes are sorted by categories and classes.

Ranger Only Recipes
Shortbow + Pestilence Flask
Piggybank + 2x Lucky Clover
The super piggy, made from a regular piggy, grants one gold coin, two luck, and enhances items in front of it. The uniqueness of the Lucky Piggy lies in its interaction with chance-dependent items. Examples of such items include the Hammer, Mana Orb, Garlic, and Bow and Arrows.
Shortbow + Walrus Tusk
Shortbow + 2x Lucky Clover
Bow and Arrow + Pestilence Flask
Bow and Arrow + Walrus Tusk
Bow and Arrow + 2x Lucky Clover
Magic Staff + Acorn Collar
Critwood Staff requires four mana to deal an additional seven damage, and for one second, all attacks (including attacks from the staff) become critical. It pairs well with bows, stones, fast swords, daggers, and gloves that can strike within this short time interval. If you speed up Critwood Staff to one second, critical hits become constant.
Reaper Only Recipes
Magic Staff + Demonic Flask
Staff of Unhealing is a complex and unique weapon. It doesn't deal damage but heals for 10 HP. It demonstrates its power with 6 mana: all HP restoration (Regeneration and Vampirism) inflicts damage for 2 seconds. An excellent weapon for a Healing Reaper.
Ruby Whelp + Holo Fire Lizard
Ruby Whelp, a regular dragon hatchling emerges from a Ruby Egg after two rounds. If the special Holo Fire Lizard card for the Reaper is found, it transforms into a Ruby Chonk, attacking then swiftly and powerfully, accelerating with each hit. Upon collecting ten Heats, there's a 30% chance to stun the enemy, which is excellent on its own and even more effective with daggers.
Swords and Blades
Wooden Sword + 2x Whetstone
Heroic Sword is an excellent weapon in the early stages of the game. It is crafted from a basic Wooden Sword and two Whetstones. The sword enhances all surrounding weapons by +2 damage and can be crafted into even more powerful weapons.
Hero Sword + 2x Whetstone
Hero Longsword - is the result of two additional sharpenings of the Hero Sword. It increases the number of adjacent star-marked cells and adds even more damage (+4 in total). The more items around the sword, the more powerful it becomes. It pairs well with stones and compact daggers.
Hero Sword + 2x Gloves of Haste
Falcon Blade is another variation of the Hero Sword combined with two gloves. It accelerates all items around it by 35%, and, most importantly, delivers double strikes. Why is this important? To increase damage, trigger critical hits, activate debuffs and damage over time effects from inserted gemstones, or to freeze enemies with a blue gem. This double strike has numerous applications, but it inflicts more damage upon itself against thorns.
Hero Longsword + Falcon Blade
Crossblades are crafted from the two previously mentioned powerful swords. An item located on a star deals ten more damage; a good choice is to place a Bow and Arrows there. An item in the green square triggers 60% faster.
Crossblades become more powerful with each attack: after a successful hit, they increase their damage by one and accelerate by 3%.
The drawback of this combination is that its creation takes a lot of time. It's better to plan the collection of such weapons in advance by purchasing all the necessary whetstones.

Vampiric Items
Gloves of Haste + Blood Amulet
From ordinary gloves, you can make Vampiric ones. They accelerate items on the sides by 35%, and, after 4 seconds, provide a generous 6 units of vampirism. Truly powerful gloves.
Hungry Blade + Thorn Whip
Hungry Blade is always advisable to upgrade into the Bloodthorne. This way, Regeneration is converted not only into Vampirism but also into Spikes. These two stats, in turn, increase the damage to the weapon by 2. It's a powerful weapon but, naturally, requires a good regeneration rate for high efficiency.
Leather Armor + Blood Amulet
Regular Leather Armor can be crafted into Vampiric Armor with the help of a vampiric stone. It provides significantly more armor not only initially but also throughout the entire battle due to health conversion.
Dagger + Blood Amulet
Blood Dagger is an inexpensive and striking representative of the vampire build. It gains one unit of Vampirism on hitting an enemy and heals for two for each star around it. Stars have to contain vampiric items.
Magic Items
Broom + Mana Orb
Magic Staff is a long-range weapon that requires three mana to deal six damage and increase own damage by two until the end of the battle. It's usually worth crafting the staff if you're lucky enough to find it in the shop along with the Mana Orb. You'll also need to gather Blueberries and other mana sources, without which the staff will only deal four to six damage.
Dagger + Mana Orb
Spectral Dagger is a bit tricky to use. Firstly, it is crafted from the Mana Orb. Secondly, to deal damage directly to health, it requires mana (for example, Blueberries or a second Mana Orb).
Hungry Blade + Mana Orb
Manathirst gains mana upon striking and steals 12+ life when accumulating 20 mana. The mana is not expended and can be used for other purposes.
Lightsaber + Corrupted Crystal
Darksaber deals additional damage for each debuff on the opponent and can blind the enemy if mana is available. This powerful weapon was Reaper exclusive before.
Potion Recipes
Health Potion + Healing Herbs
Strong Health Potion utilizes herbs for an additional 6 HP and 2 regeneration. However, sometimes it's more beneficial to leave the herbs in the inventory, especially in vampiric builds.
Stone Skin Potion + 2x Stone
Strong Stone Skin Potion provides slightly more armor, and 3 spikes. These spikes are active for only 3 seconds, so it's advisable to spend them on something immediately.
Heroic Potion + Banana
Strong Heroic Potion is made from a banana and provides four stamina when a player lacking it completely. In practice, such a situation doesn't always occur.
Fly Agaric + Pestilence Flask
Health Potion + Blueberries
Demonic Flask + Corrupted Crystal
Vampiric Potion + Cauldron
Mana Potion + Cauldron
Divine Potion + Cauldron
Goobert Recipes
Goobert + 2x Carrot
Carrot Goobert, the exclusive pet of the Ranger, removes debuffs and increases the damage of all weapons by 2 for 4 seconds.
Goobert + 2x Fly Agaric
Poison Goobert is quite an interesting pet overall - it removes two poisons from itself and applies three to an enemy. It pairs well with Pestilence Flask, allowing you to later remove that poison from yourself. Very useful when playing against other Reapers.
Goobert + Cheese
Goobert + Pepper
Goobert + Hero Sword
Steel Goobert is potent for both classes: providing 18 armor and increasing weapon damage on green squares for every 5 star activations. To quickly activate the stars, it is recommended to place shields, weapons, and blueberries in adjacent cells. This item pairs well with unwieldy weapons like the Hammer or Thorn Whip to activate both a yellow star and a green square.
Goobert + Blood Amulet
Blood Goobert provides two units of Vampirism from the start, and every 6 star activations steals 10 HP plus the current value of Vampirism. If you combine Blood Goobert with the Blood Harvester and accumulate 20-30 vampirism, the ability to take away health from enemies will become the key to many victories.
Goobert + Lightsaber
Light Goobert is probably the rarest Goobert: it heals for 18 and inflicts 6 Blind, but only for 4 seconds.
Goobert + Steel Goobert + Blood Goobert + Light Goobert + Class-specific Goobert
Omega, Giga, Grand, Holy, Rainbow Goobert – the one that all players collected only once. Provides a multitude of buffs, armor, damage, and heals. Very difficult to assemble, but after collection, it's almost impossible to lose any fight.
Armor and Shields
Holy Armor + Corrupted Crystal
Shield of Valor + Mana Orb
Leather Armor + Stone Skin Potion
Cap of Resilience + Corrupted Crystal
Heart Container + Corrupted Crystal
Other Items
Customer Card + Customer Card
Dagger + Pestilence Flask
Poison Dagger is quite straightforward to use: it applies two poisons with each strike.
Wooden Buckler + Walrus Tusk
Spiked Shield is crafted from a regular shield and a tusk. It mitigates a portion of damage with a 35% chance and can provide up to 3 spikes per battle. It may not be very powerful but is suitable for spike builds in the early stages of the game.
Gloves of Haste + Walrus Tusk
Claws of Attack are crafted from regular gloves and one tusk. They attack 5% faster for each spike character has and, after five hits, enhance their own damage by one.
Pan + Heroic Potion
Eggcalibur has many stars around it, and for each food in them, it gains one unit of damage, which can boost it to 15-16 base damage. Additionally, it activates all food for 15 mana.
Pan + Corrupted Crystal
Pandamonium itself boasts high damage stats. In addition to them, it also inflicts one poison for each activated star with food. This amount of poison is effective not only for the Reaper but also suitable for the Huntress. When the enemy has less than 35% health remaining, the green cell activates 100% faster. Sustain items such as a healing book can be useful there, along with some pineapple or garlic, which can also be placed in an adjacent star.
Pan + Broom
Miscellaneous Interactions
2 Gems of the same rarity = 1 Gem of higher rarity
Hammer + Piggybank
You can break a regular piggy bank with a hammer, and it will yield 5 coins. The piggy bank will disappear, but the hammer will remain in its place, which is absolutely reasonable.
